What is the BioPsych Society?
We are students interested in courses dedicated to biology and psychology at Mac, the majority of us enrolled in McMaster's Honours Biology and Psychology program. Similar to other academic societies like the Psych society or Biochem society, the BioPsych Society offers students the chance to interact with other members of their program and let people interact without the stresses of the classroom or lab atmosphere. To do this we plan on organizing number of social events giving students a chance to discuss courses, tests, and life in general. We also give students a chance to interact with various professors though our meet the profs night. Also, new for this year, we are planning on initiating a BioPsych Peer Mentoring program, where 2nd Year students can be paired with 3rd or 4th Year students for academic help, as well as someone who's just there to talk to. So if you are in Honours Biology and Psychology, or have a similar academic theme (many bio majors may minor in psychology), you are invited to come out and take this opportunity to network with your peers and get involved in the McMaster community. Why become a member of the BioPsych Society? Besides being a member of the coolest club at Mac, here are the benefits that only BioPsych Society member can get:
BioPsych Society memberships are only $5 and you can easily save much more than that with the benefits that members get. How to become a member of the BioPsych Society? In order to become a member and receive your membership card you must pay the $5 fee to one of the executives at a BioPsych Society event (ex. Clubsfest, General Meeting, Meet the Profs, etc.) or during the executive's office hours. Check out the office hours schedule here. | Our First Stress Buster Event!: |
